Goal: Students require to understand and perform the research independently.

          Students also require to perform analysis on data and interpret them correctly

Assignment: Read related textbooks and published papers

                      Familiar with the solution formula

                      Able to make-up chemical solution

                      Learn general and particular laboratory techniques (e.g. aseptic 

                      technique and bacterial plating)

                     Interpret experimental data

                     Able to write science report

                     Able to present experimental result

Class hours: Students are expected to perform experiments in a timely manner. They are required to discuss experimental progress daily.

Deadline:  Students are required to meet the following criteria:

                    1.  Students should finish the proposal by September 1, 2003

                    2.  First set of preliminary data should be finished by December 1, 2003

                         for the first grade assessment

                    3.  The final data and result should be finished by March 1, 2004

                    4.  The first draft of thesis should be finished by April 2004
