Attendance, Participation, and Preparation:
Attendance:
Attendance is mandatory for all class sessions.
You are allowed 3 absences per semester. This includes excused and unexcused absences. If you have to miss class for a religious obligation, it will not be counted toward the 3 allotted absences.
At this moment, you should decide whether or not you are a serious music student. If you are, come to class.
Participation in class:
If called on, be prepared to participate in some capacity.
Evidence of preparation for class:
Examples of being prepared: You obviously can play the music despite being nervous or not, perhaps there are pencil marks in your music, pages turn easily, anticipating, and/or having specific questions about the material.
*Tip: Finding a practice partner helps tremendously and makes practicing more fun. Find someone that has similar free time and schedule time to practice on the same day as class, the class in between and two other times before the next class.
You are what you repeatedly do. Excellence is not an event it is a habit. - Aristotle
