Electronic Music Composition

Ellington Project Concert -- April 28th, 2004. at 12 Noon in Pius.  
Each group will perform their two songs.

Ellington Projects: We are going to add a second song for each group to arrange. See the Creative Process Groups page for your group and song. The second assignment in the Ellington Project is essentially the same, but look at the Second Assignment for a few details.

Ear Training Set Eight: (1-3 major melodies with steps, skips, and perfect intervals;4-10 minor melodies with scale steps only). Review minor scale forms before doing these.
Ear Training Set Nine: (1-3 major melodies add sixths to above; 4-10 minor scale melodies with steps, thirds, and perfect intervals). 6th and 7th scale degrees are either raised or lowered.
Ear Training Set Ten: Major and minor melodies interspersed with all possible intervals.
Ear Training Set Eleven: Two part major scale melody and bass line. Harmonic intervals are consonant, and common practice voice-leading maintained. Bass line includes steps and thirds, with 2 exceptions. See page for more details.
Ear Training Set Twelve Two part major scale melody and bass line. Harmonic intervals are consonant (see exceptions), and common practice voice leading maintained. Bass line includes steps, thirds, fourths and fifths melodically.
