We will continue to develop our
musicianship skills with solfege, music dictation, conducting, rhythm
exercises. We will continue to develop our analytical skills; first we tackle
a Beethoven symphony, then on to three of the Beatles most memorable songs. Texts: Music for Sight Singing, 7th Ed. by Robert Ottman: (MSS) (ISBN 0-13-187234-6) Beginning Tonal Dictation, 2nd Ed. by Thomas Durham (BTD) ISBN 1-57766-305-5) Bring both textbooks, music
paper and pencils to every class meeting. Exercises in MSS are to be prepared for class meetings as below. Even numbered
exercises in BTD are done in
class. Students must complete odd numbered exercises on their own - see
