MUA 3011: Audio Recording Techniques II                                SP 2003

Tuesday: 1:30-3:30 PM, Music Building Room 3A

 

This is a continuation of MUA 2011. Using recording and mixing techniques learned in the fall, students will develop a recording project from its beginning to the successful production of a professional quality audio CD.  Additionally students will record, edit and master a live concert, and contribute to various recording projects with Manhattanville College Ensembles. Prerequisite: Successful completion of MUA 2011 or permission of instructor. Enrollment is limited to 12.  

Textbook: Modern Recording Techniques (MRT) by David Miles Huber. Additional   readings and discussion questions on Blackboard*. Students must consult the Blackboard site regularly to keep up with course material.

Course Requirements: (1) Midterm (20%); (2) Final Exam (20%); (3) Final Project (25%); (4) Music Department Concert Recording (20%); Blackboard discussion and class participation (15%).
