Topics to be covered:

 

      Quick review of material from Calculus I: derivatives,

         antiderivatives, integrals, areas, Fundamental

         Theorem of Calculus

      Finding volumes of revolution using disk and shell methods

      Arclength problems

      Logarithmic and exponential functions

      Inverse trigonometric functions

      Hyperbolic functions

      Techniques of integration

      l’Hopital’s Rule, Improper integrals

      Sequences and series, power series, Taylor's Theorem

      Polar coordinates     

         

 

Requirements for course:

 

     Class attendance

     Homework assignments

     Graded Derive problems

     2 or 3 tests 

     Final examination

 

Calculator policy: You will NOT be allowed to use graphing calculators or cell-phones during the tests and final exam.  A scientific calculator (like the TI-30Xa or Casio FX-260) or a simple function calculator (add, sub, mult, div, square roots, etc.) is permitted. If you plan to use a calculator other than one of those, it must be approved in advance.
