BlackBoard is a Web based application. Your access to BlackBoard is through
Internet Explorer. You enroll yourself in a course using an access code provided
by the instructor. The courses are listed in a course catalog of available
courses. Here are the steps:
If you have already used BlackBoard you have an account on BlackBoard (if you
used BlackBoard to take the placement test then you have a BlackBoard account)
follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer and go to http://blackboard.mville.edu
Click the Login button
Enter your user name
Enter your password
Click the Login button
Click on the Courses tab
Click on the Browse Course Catalog link
Click on the category for your course link
Find the listing for the course in which you want to enroll (NOTE There
may be more than one page of courses for a category).
Click the Enroll button on the right
A Self Enrollment page appears. Enter the Access Code (given in class) and
click the Submit button
If everything worked a page appears confirming that your self enrollment
worked. Click the OK button
You should now see the Announcements page for the course.

If you have never used BlackBoard before follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer and go to http://blackboard.mville.edu
Click the Create Account button
On the Create New Account page fill in your information. You only
need to fill in the information labeled with a red asterisk.
Click the Submit button when you are done.
Click the Ok button on the Confirmation page.
Click the courses tab
Click on the Browse Course Catalog link
Click on the category for your course link
Find the listing for the course in which you want to enroll (NOTE There
may be more than one page of courses for a category).
Click the Enroll button on the right
A Self Enrollment page appears. Enter the Access Code (given in class) and
click the Submit button
If everything worked a page appears confirming that your self enrollment
worked. Click the OK button
You should now see the Announcements page for your course.

Use your Username and Password to login to BlackBoard each time you
access the site. Be sure to click the LogOff button when you are done.
